While the match kept the series tied at 1-1, its implications for India’s ICC World Test Championship Final hopes are significant. With two Tests remaining, India’s path to qualification hinges on their performance and results from other series.
To secure a direct entry to the WTC Final, the Rohit Sharma-led side must win both the remaining Tests in the series. A victory in the fourth and fifth Tests would ensure India claims the series 3-1 and guarantees their place in the summit clash.
