Rishabh Pant became the first Indian and only the fourth batter to hit 100 sixes in Test cricket. He reached the milestone in 31 fewer Tests than Ben Stokes and 41 fewer innings than Adam Gilchrist. As the latest milestone in his Test career, Rishabh Pant has become the first Indian batter and only the fourth player overall to hit 100 sixes in the format. He reached the landmark during the Galle Test against Sri Lanka by pulling Lahiru Kumara over fine leg. Pant is currently tied for third with Adam Gilchrist, while Ben Stokes leads the list with 138 sixes, followed by Brendon McCullum on 107.
Pant reached 100 sixes faster than any other batter in terms of matches, innings and balls faced. His aggressive six-hitting has increased significantly since 2025, with 32 sixes coming from only 16 innings, including 26 in 13 innings during 2025. He hit at least one six in 14 of those 16 innings.
Overall, Pant hits a six once every 49.34 balls in Tests, while his frequency against spin improves to one every 27.37 balls. Spinners have conceded 76 of his first 100 sixes, highlighting his dominance against them. Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir have each conceded 9 sixes to Pant, while Nathan Lyon has conceded 7. Sixes account for 16.4% of Pant’s Test runs, underlining how important his attacking approach has become.
