In the record books, India have some huge wins in T20I cricket. The biggest of them came against New Zealand in Ahmedabad. England and Ireland also feature among the teams that have suffered heavy defeats against India.
India vs New Zealand
The 2023 game against New Zealand is still India’s biggest T20I win. It was a night to remember for Shubman Gill, who played one of the finest innings of his T20I career. India finished on 234/4, with Gill unbeaten on 126. Rahul Tripathi made a quick 44, while Hardik Pandya added 30.
New Zealand never really got into the chase. Their batting fell apart and the team was dismissed for only 66. Hardik was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets. India walked away with a 168-run win.
India vs England
England were on the wrong end of another big defeat in Mumbai in 2025. India piled up 247/9, thanks largely to Abhishek Sharma. The left-hander smashed 135 from 54 balls and cleared the boundary 13 times.
England needed a strong start but lost wickets too often. Phil Salt did his part with 55 from 23 balls, yet there was little support at the other end. England were all out for 97 in only 10.3 overs. India therefore finished with a 150-run victory.
India vs Ireland
India’s win over Ireland in 2018 also makes the list. Playing in Dublin, India put 213/4 on the scoreboard. KL Rahul led the way with 70, while Suresh Raina made 69. Hardik Pandya then added a quick unbeaten 32 from 9 balls.
Ireland’s reply lasted just 12.3 overs. They could score only 70 before losing all their wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets each, putting India firmly in control. The result was a 143-run win for India.
