The Day 2 of the 4th Test match between India and Australia saw some of the best moments when Steve Smith scored a brilliant century, helping Australia build a solid position. Despite Smith’s impressive knock, the spotlight shifted to the unfortunate run-out involving Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli. Jaiswal, after driving a full ball to mid-on, set off for a run, but Kohli, ball-watching, did not respond quickly enough, resulting in a run-out. The mix-up led to a collapse, with India losing three wickets for just six runs. He said:

Looked like (Yashasvi) Jaiswal called and Virat (Kohli) sent him back. That’s about it. It’s an important moment in scheme of play. (Virat) Kohli is a class player – He played well in Perth, looked good today – Thought we were in for a masterclass, fortunately (Scott) Boland got one.
Kohli had earlier looked in good touch, scoring 36 runs off 86 balls, and formed an important 102-run partnership with Jaiswal. However, after Jaiswal’s dismissal, Kohli fell to a wide delivery from Scott Boland. Smith praised Kohli’s skills, noting his excellent form in Perth and today’s innings, but the dismissal was a big moment for Australia. At the end of the day, India still faced a challenge, needing 111 more runs to avoid the follow-on.
