Social Media Reacts as Virat Kohli Enjoys Family Time Ahead of England ODI Series Return
Virat Kohli was seen spending time with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children, Vamika and Akaay, in the UK as he recovers from a hamstring injury. The 37-year-old missed the Afghanistan ODI series and is set to return against England on July 14, 16, and 19. Kohli's last ODI was a 124 against New Zealand in January. He also scored 675 runs in 16 IPL 2026 matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
As the countdown to India’s ODI tour of England begins, Virat Kohli was recently seen spending time with his family in the United Kingdom. The former India captain, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, was ruled out of the 3 match ODI series against Afghanistan earlier this year. With the 2027 Cricket World Cup on the horizon, Kohli is expected to make his return during India’s upcoming ODI series in England.
Photos circulating on social media showed Kohli enjoying a relaxed day at a park with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children. In several pictures, he was seen carrying his son Akaay on his shoulders while interacting with people around him. Since their children’s births, Kohli and Anushka have largely stayed out of public view and are currently based in England. India is scheduled to play 3 ODIs against England on July 14, 16, and 19.
Kohli’s last international appearance came against New Zealand in Indore on January 18, where he scored 124 runs. Despite his century, India lost the match by 41 runs and also conceded the series 2-1. The 37-year-old will also be chasing more milestones, as he remains 15 centuries short of Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international hundreds. Kohli enters the series in good form after scoring 675 runs in 16 IPL matches and helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru win their second successive title.
