IND vs AUS: Tensions Between Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami Delay Pacer’s Inclusion in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25
Recent Reports suggest that all is not well between Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami. The two players are reportedly involved in a rift, which has caused delays in adding the pacer to the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 squad.
Reports suggest that Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami had a heated argument after the first Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is believed that the two players exchanged abusive words during the confrontation and tensions between them seemed to escalate during the incident.
Following the incident, Rohit Sharma kept his distance from Mohammed Shami. Shami tried to approach the captain in the Indian dressing room, but security officials stopped him. They explained that since Shami was not part of the Indian squad, he was not permitted to enter the dressing room.
Mohammed Shami was reportedly unhappy with the situation and had a heated exchange with the security officials. Despite this, the fast bowler waited until the evening, determined to have a conversation with India’s captain, Rohit Sharma.
When they met in the evening, Mohammed Shami angrily confronted Rohit Sharma about his statement in the media. Rohit had claimed was only half-fit and would not be traveling to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which upset the fast bowler.
