IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma Takes Precautions for Jasprit Bumrah’s Fitness in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Australia's win in the Adelaide Test brought the series to 1-1, adding to India's concerns. Jasprit Bumrah's fitness remains a worry and while Mohammed Siraj has shown potential, he lacks the experience and impact that seasoned bowlers like Mohammed Shami or Bumrah bring to the team.

Team India is worried about Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness after he appeared uncomfortable during the day-night Test in Adelaide. He grabbed his inner thigh in the first over with the second new ball during Australia’s first innings, causing concern among the Indian camp in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Mohammed Kaif shared his views on India’s performance in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, saying there’s no reason to panic with the series tied at 1-1. However, he stressed the need for better planning and tactical decisions, pointing out areas where Rohit Sharma’s captaincy could improve. He said:

No need to panic that much; it’s just 1-1. It’s alright. We’ve lost one Test; there is no need to behave like all is lost. The planning needs to be better; tactical moves need to come into play. Rohit Sharma was not up to the mark as captain.

Jasprit Bumrah is the backbone of India’s bowling attack in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, consistently troubling the Australian batters. With no clarity about Mohammed Shami’s availability, Bumrah is currently the only reliable bowler for India.
