Ahead of the highly anticipated Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Indian cricketers took part in a friendly fielding competition led by three captains, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, and Mohammed Siraj. The event, designed by the Indian team management and the fielding coach T Dilip as part of their preparations for the crucial Test, saw teams compete in a fun-filled fielding drill.

Jurel, the youngest leader in the group, showcased impressive leadership skills as his team, which included top players like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna, emerged victorious. The other team, one led by Sarfaraz Khan, consisted of star players like Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikall. While Siraj led another side, having Captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul Rishabh Pant, Akash Deep, and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The competition proved to be both engaging and rewarding, as Jurel’s team claimed the prize of $300 after their dominant performance. It was a lighthearted yet valuable exercise for the players, fostering team spirit and sharp fielding techniques ahead of the fourth Test.

As India prepares for the critical clash in Melbourne, following a drawn third Test at The Gabba, the fielding contest added a refreshing break from intense training and will likely keep the players’ spirits high for the upcoming match.
