With the 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaching, Australia faces uncertainty regarding Travis Head’s availability due to a quad strain sustained during the Gabba Test. Head, who has been in sublime form with back-to-back centuries, is undergoing further assessments. Although he was seen practicing in the nets, his inclusion in the Boxing Day Test remains doubtful.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Sam Konstas has been confirmed to make his debut at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The talented batter, who recently impressed with a century against India in a practice match, will don the Baggy Green in this crucial encounter. Konstas’ performance in the practice match included a stellar 107 runs off 97 balls against a formidable Indian bowling lineup comprising Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja. He also has a history of strong performances at the MCG, including an unbeaten 73 for Australia A.

With the series tied at 1-1, the Boxing Day Test promises to be a thrilling contest between Pat Cummins’ Australia and Rohit Sharma’s India, as both teams aim to gain a decisive lead in this five-match series.
