IND vs AUS: PM Anthony Albanese Praises Virat Kohli and Highlights Growing India-Australia Cricket Rivalry
Anthony Albanese, the Australian Prime Minister, praised Indian batter Virat Kohli during the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He mentioned that his personal doctor is a big fan of Kohli and was excited to hear about their meeting.
On November 28, ahead of the second Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Team India visited Parliament House in Canberra, where they were welcomed by Anthony Albanese. The players toured the Parliament, interacted with Albanese, and posed with several Australian ministers during the visit.
PM Albanese shared that his personal doctor’s admiration for Virat Kohli went beyond typical fandom. He recalled how his doctor was excited about meeting the cricketer and even asked for an autograph. He said:

Ahead of the first Test match of the BGT 2024-25 series, Virat Kohli faced criticism for his red-ball form. He was out for just five runs in the first innings but made a strong comeback, scoring an unbeaten 100 in the second innings, marking his 30th Test century.
Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal played key roles in helping the team win the first Test by 295 runs, giving India a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Kohli will next be seen in action during the second Test, which will be played under pink-ball, day-night conditions in Adelaide from December 6.
