On Day 3 of the second Test between South Africa and Bangladesh, the first session strongly favored South Africa, with Bangladesh struggling at 137/8. South Africa holds a commanding 438-run lead as Kagiso Rabada delivered an outstanding five-wicket haul in the first innings. His performance has placed the visitors in a dominant position, tightening their grip on the match and putting Bangladesh under severe pressure.

Mominul Haque’s resilient 20th Test half-century, along with a vital 89-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Taijul Islam, provided Bangladesh with some much-needed stability after a rough start on the third morning. Bangladesh found themselves in deep trouble at 48/8 within the first 30 minutes of play, as Kagiso Rabada wreaked havoc with his second five-wicket haul of the series. Rabada’s dominance in this series has been remarkable, posting an average of just 7.78, the lowest by any South African bowler in a series with at least ten wickets.

Alongside Kagiso Rabada’s impressive five-wicket haul, Dane Paterson contributed by claiming two wickets, while Keshav Maharaj added another to his tally. As the teams headed to lunch, South Africa held a commanding 438-run lead, positioning themselves to maintain a strong grip on the match. With Bangladesh struggling to reach 137/8, South Africa will now aim to capitalize further, looking to wrap up the innings quickly and enforce their dominance in this Test.
