India vs New Zealand: India Stages Comeback with Fifties from Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan
At the close of Day 3 in the first Test between India and New Zealand, the Indian team made a strong comeback, reaching 231 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, thanks to fifties from Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan. India still trails by 125 runs and will resume batting on Day 4.
As Day 3 began in the Test match between India and New Zealand, the Kiwis resumed their innings at 180/3. It was a day dominated by Rachin Ravindra, who notched his second Test century, while Tim Southee contributed a solid 65 runs. New Zealand was ultimately bowled out for 402 runs in 91.3 overs, with Ravindra finishing on 134 runs from 157 balls. This gave New Zealand a commanding lead of 356 runs. For India, both Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each.

Following Rohit Sharma’s wicket, Sarfaraz Khan joined forces with Virat Kohli at the crease, both of whom are former Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates. Kohli reached a significant milestone by completing 9,000 Test runs and securing his 31st half-century. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz notched up his fourth half-century in just seven Test innings, showcasing his talent.
The duo formed a formidable partnership, accumulating 136 runs together. However, on the last ball of the day, Glenn Phillips struck, dismissing Kohli for 70 runs. As it stands, India trails by 125 runs with seven wickets remaining, putting them in a critical position as they head into the next day.
