India’s loss in the 4th Test against Australia has been marked with some controversial moments, particularly regarding Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal on day five. Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar slammed the third umpire’s decision after Jaiswal was given out following a review for a possible edge.

Despite replays showing a deflection near the glove, Snicko showed no conclusive evidence of an edge, leading Gavaskar to question the use of technology, stating it could be an optical illusion. He emphasized that technology should be used effectively and not based on visual misinterpretation.

The dismissal occurred during the 71st over when Jaiswal attempted a pull shot against Pat Cummins. Following this, Australia capitalized on India’s batting collapse in the final session, with Cummins, Starc, and Lyon taking key wickets. India’s batting struggles were marked by early dismissals, and despite a strong partnership between Jaiswal and Pant, India eventually lost by seven wickets, trailing 2-1 in the series.
