For the 2nd Test against India, the Australian team has brought in Scott Boland to replace injured pacer Josh Hazlewood, who suffered a side strain. Boland, 35, is set to play his first Test in nearly 18 months. Known for his consistency and ability to extract movement, Boland’s inclusion is expected to leverage Adelaide’s favorable conditions.

Australia boasts an unblemished record at the Adelaide Oval, winning all seven of their pink-ball Tests there, including a memorable victory against India in 2020-21, when the visitors were bowled out for a mere 36. Hazlewood was instrumental in that game, claiming 5/8.

All-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who faced fitness concerns after the Perth Test, has been declared fit to bowl, bolstering Australia’s options. Australia enters this match aiming to level the series after a 295-run loss in the first Test.

Australian Team for 2nd Test:

Nathan McSweeney, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins (captain), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland.
