India vs Australia: Rohit Sharma’s Team India Embraces the Art of Leaving as Focus Shifts to Brisbane
Following their pink-ball Test disappointment, India’s team focused on refining their technique in Adelaide before heading to Brisbane for the third Test. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma emphasized defensive skills in nets. With the series tied 1-1, India aims to address top-order vulnerabilities, especially judgment outside off-stump. Meanwhile, bowlers like Jadeja and Ashwin prepared intensely, while Bumrah was rested.
The 3rd Test between India and Australia is all set to begin at the Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday, with the series tied 1-1. Following their pink-ball Test defeat, Team India chose to stay back in Adelaide to address key batting flaws, particularly the judgment of deliveries outside the off-stump. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli led the top-order’s intensive nets session, focusing on defensive techniques and backfoot play. Rohit, who batted at No. 6 in the previous Test, hinted at a return to the opener’s role.
The team also included Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Shubman Gill, who spent extended periods in the nets. While Kohli, fresh off a century in Perth, worked on avoiding off-stump nicks, Rahul focused on his defense, and Jaiswal showcased aggressive stroke play.
India’s bowlers, including Jadeja, Ashwin, and Sundar, participated in preparations, though Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were rested. With batting collapses and inconsistent bowling troubling India, the top order’s performance will be crucial to success in Brisbane.
