As India gears up for the high-profile series, the team has been sharpening their skills with a rigorous training camp at WACA. From intense net drills to simulation matches mimicking high-pressure Test scenarios, the players have been putting in the work. However, amidst the tough training sessions, a heartwarming and playful moment between Morkel and Siraj stole the show.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Siraj playfully video-bombed Morkel during a media interaction. The South African legend, who now serves as India’s bowling coach, took the opportunity to praise Siraj’s bowling skills and aggressive approach.

Showing his trust on Siraj, coach said:

This man (Siraj) is a legend. He’s got a big heart and an aggressive mindset; he’s one of the leaders of the attack, and I am very excited to see how he goes on this tour. Last tour, he was the go-to man in tough situations, and we’re excited to see more of that senior role coming out in him on a very important tour.

Morkel’s lighthearted gesture, capped off with a playful kiss on Siraj’s helmet, symbolised the synergy they have between them. Siraj, expected to lead India’s bowling attack alongside Jasprit Bumrah, will play a pivotal role in the upcoming series, aiming to repeat his heroics from the last tour and help India claim victory in the five-match Test series. In this pacer-friendly condition of Australia, Siraj is looking to shine bright and to make a strong statement with his bowling.
