IND vs AUS: Virat Kohli Names His Best Test Knock in Australia, The 2018-19 Perth Century
On Monday, November 18, Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, revealed his favourite Test knock in Australia. He selected his century against Australia in the Perth Test during the 2018-19 series as his greatest innings in Test cricket while playing in Australia.
Virat Kohli enjoys playing against Australia and has strong Test records against them. However, he has struggled with form leading up to the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. In India’s 0-3 defeat to New Zealand, Kohli scored only 93 runs across six innings, highlighting his recent struggles with the bat.
At the headshot photo sessions, Indian players shared a fun moment by asking each other questions ahead of the Test series against Australia, starting November 22 in Perth. The player whose photo was being taken would ask the next player in line a question, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere before the series.
In a BCCI video titled “Ask the Next One,” Mohammed Siraj asked Virat about his best knock in Australia. Kohli chose his century in Perth during the 2018-19 series, mentioning that it was the toughest pitch he had ever battled on in Test cricket.
Four Indian batsmen, including Sunil Gavaskar, Mohinder Amarnath, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have scored a century in Test matches in Perth. Kohli scored 123 runs during the 2018-19 series. Perth is known for having one of the fastest and bounciest pitches in the world, making it a challenging venue for batsmen.
