IND vs AUS: Mitchell Starc’s Stunning Yorker Sends Ravichandran Ashwin Back in Adelaide Test
India made a change to their playing XI for the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia at Adelaide Oval. Ravichandran Ashwin was included in the team, with in-form Washington Sundar dropped and Ravindra Jadeja not being selected for the match.
Ravichandran Ashwin was unable to make a significant impact with the bat during the second session of the ongoing Day-Night Test at Adelaide Oval. The Indian off-spinner was dismissed by Mitchell Starc for 22 runs off 22 balls, disappointing many who had hoped for a better performance from him.
Mitchell Starc took a Brilliant wicket in the second ball of the 39th over, dismissing Ravichandran Ashwin. The delivery, bowled at 139.5 kph, was an inswinging yorker aimed at the middle stump. Ashwin was late in bringing his bat down and the ball swung sharply, hitting him in front of the stumps and crashing into the middle stump, sending him back to the pavilion.
Ravichandran Ashwin reviewed the umpire’s decision, but ball-tracking showed that the ball was likely to hit the middle stump. As a result, India lost their review. This was Starc’s fourth wicket in the match and the seventh blow to India in the ongoing second Test in Adelaide.
