During a recent interview, Travis Head, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell shared their favorite Indian cricket heroes from childhood. Head named Sachin Tendulkar as his all-time favorite, while the others also highlighted influential Indian players who inspired them.

The Australian cricket team is currently engaged in a five-match Test series against India at home. After suffering a heavy 295-run defeat in the opening match in Perth, they bounced back strongly to level the series with a commanding 10-wicket win in Adelaide. This win has given them momentum and renewed confidence going into the next matches.

In a video, Travis Head, Steve Smith and Pat Cummins all named Sachin Tendulkar as their favorite Indian cricketer from their childhood. Head admired his ability to bat for long periods, Smith praised his style and skill and Cummins noted that Tendulkar was the obvious choice for many fans. Head said:

It will have to be Tendulkar. He’s the most we watched on TV batting. Cause no one else would. He used to bat the whole time.

Alex Carey shared that he admired MS Dhoni growing up and had the chance to play against him. Glenn Maxwell mentioned that everyone loved Sachin Tendulkar and highlighted VVS Laxman’s unique style and memorable performances.

Mitchell Marsh revealed that Sachin Tendulkar was his favorite Indian cricketer growing up. Usman Khawaja, on the other hand, admired Virender Sehwag, calling him awesome and highlighting his unique playing style.
