IND vs AUS: Alex Carey Jokes About India’s 2020 Loss and Confident of Australia’s Comeback in Adelaide

Alex Carey, the Australia wicketkeeper, reminded the Team of their record-low score of just 36 in the Adelaide Test during the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. He pointed out this collapse as a reminder of India's struggle in that match.

Alex Carey made his comments just days before the second Test between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval, which will be a day-night Test, similar to the previous one. Since India has bad memories of playing with the pink ball in Australia, Carey took the opportunity to poke fun at the visitors.

Speaking to reporters before the second Test, the Australia wicketkeeper reminded India of their heavy defeat and mentioned that Australia has plans for the opposition. He also joked that he didn’t attend the Adelaide 2020 Test because it ended so quickly. He said:

There have been amazing days in cricketing history, but we won’t go out there expecting to do it again. We have a process and plan, and we try to execute it regardless of what happens. I wasn’t here for the Test match, but I missed that, it happened too quickly. We are excited, and we take a lot of confidence out of our record in the pink ball Test.

India took a first-innings lead in that match, but they couldn’t handle the Australian seamers in the second innings and lost by 8 wickets. Interestingly, Carey wasn’t part of that team, as Tim Paine was the designated wicketkeeper and captain for Australia at that time.
