Australia's Nathan McSweeney produced a stunning catch at gully to dismiss KL Rahul on Day 1 of the second Test in Adelaide. The dismissal broke a developing partnership between Rahul and Shubman Gill after India’s top order faced early pressure from Mitchell Starc's fiery spells.
Nathan McSweeney showcased his sharp reflexes and agility on Day 1 of the second Test at the Adelaide Oval, pulling off a brilliant catch to dismiss Indian opener KL Rahul. The dismissal came during the 19th over of the Indian innings, breaking a promising stand between Rahul and Shubman Gill.
After losing the toss, Australia’s bowlers dominated the opening session. Mitchell Starc struck on the very first ball of the match, trapping Yashasvi Jaiswal lbw, setting the tone for the day. Despite the early setback, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill steadied the innings with a composed partnership.
However, Starc returned in his second spell to deliver another game-changing moment. Bowling a short delivery, Starc forced Rahul into an awkward shot and Rahul couldn’t save his edge. The ball flew off Rahul’s bat, and McSweeney at gully dived forward to take a low, spectacular catch.
