Australia’s all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has confirmed his availability for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against India. Addressing media speculation about his fitness following soreness after the first Test, Marsh assured fans and the team of his readiness for the pink-ball game in Adelaide starting December 6.

The concerns arose when the Australian team management included Beau Webster as a cover for Marsh, raising doubts about his participation. However, the all-rounder, upon arriving in Adelaide, dismissed the worries, with a positive conversation with a journalist.

Journalist:

How’s the body feeling? there a lot of interest around you, and how you’re traveling?

Marsh:

The body’s all good, yep.

Journalist:

Andrew McDonald said you had some niggles, are you concerned about whether you’re gonna play or are you 100%?

Marsh:

Nah nah, I’m good to go.

Journalist:

See you there on Friday?

Marsh:

Yep, I’ll be there.

Marsh’s fitness is a relief for the Australian side, which aims to recover from a crushing 295-run defeat in the series opener in Perth. In the first Test, Marsh contributed with two wickets in the first innings and a fighting 47 runs in the second, along with another scalp, showcasing his value as a key player for the Aussies.

The Adelaide Test, a pink-ball fixture, holds particular significance as Australia seeks to leverage its strong day-night Test record to level the five-match series. Marsh’s all-around abilities will be pivotal to Australia’s strategy, especially as they look to counter India’s momentum.

Australia will need all hands on deck to bounce back, and Marsh’s presence will surely level up their chances in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
