Australia vs India: Rohit Sharma Prepares for Pink Ball Challenge in Adelaide Test

India's captain Rohit Sharma has resumed training with the pink ball ahead of the Day/Night Test against Australia in Adelaide starting December 6. Having missed the first Test due to paternity leave, Rohit will rejoin the squad as they prepare for the crucial second Test, following a commanding test dominance under stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah in Perth.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has hit the ground running, preparing diligently for the upcoming Day/Night Test match in Adelaide, scheduled to begin on December 6. Sharma, who missed the first Test due to paternity leave following the birth of his son, has returned to the nets to face the pink ball, focusing on deliveries from reserve pacers Navdeep Saini, Yash Dayal, and Mukesh Kumar. Former Aussie opener and commentator David Warner said from Perth in his recent interview:

And just during the lunch break here at the nets, we’ve got Captain of India Rohit Sharma, who’s just arrived in the country. He is looking nice and sharp against his fellow countrymen here in the nets. We’ve got a few of the Indian fast bowlers bowling towards the captain ahead of the pink ball test match starting the 6th of December in Adelaide…..But it’s great to see the captain here and we’re looking forward to seeing him back out on the park here on Australian soil.

Rohit joined the team in Perth on Sunday evening, providing a significant boost to the Indian squad ahead of the challenging conditions in Adelaide. The captain’s return coincides with India’s two-day warm-up game in Canberra, starting November 30.

Rohit’s return adds depth and experience to India’s batting lineup, especially in the unique conditions of a Day/Night Test. With the Adelaide match looming, the Indian contingent looks to carry forward their dominance in their form and adapt swiftly to the challenges posed by the pink ball under lights.
