Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe: Rashid Khan Returns as Afghanistan Names Squad for Two-Test Series Against Zimbabwe

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has named an 18-member squad to play Zimbabwe in a two-match Test series in Bulawayo. The team is strengthened by the return of their star cricketer, Rashid Khan, who is making his comeback to the format after over three years.

In addition to Rashid Khan, talented opening batter Sediqullah Atal has received his first Test call-up. Atal recently made his T20I and ODI debuts after strong performances in the Emerging Asia Cup. He is set to make his Test debut in the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.

The Test series between the two teams will start after a three-match ODI series that begins on December 17. The first of the two Tests will be played on December 26, with the second Test starting on January 2.

Hashmatullah Shahidi (C), Rahmat Shah (VC), Ikram Alikhail (wk), Afsar Zazai (wk), Riaz Hassan, Sediqullah Atal, Abdul Malik, Baheer Shah Mahboob, Ismat Alam, Azmatullah Omarzai, Zahir Khan, Zia Ur Rehman Akbar, Zahir Shehzad, Rashid Khan, Yamin Ahmadzai, Bashir Ahmad Afghan, Naveed Zadran, Fareed Ahmad Malik.

The return of Rashid Khan is the highlight of this squad. He has been outstanding in his career and is currently the face of Afghan cricket, particularly excelling in white-ball formats for his century.
