In the first Test match of the series between Bangladesh and South Africa, Kagiso Rabada and Wiaan Mulder have been exceptional in the opening session, leaving the hosts reeling at 60/6 as they head to the lunch break. The formidable duo combined to take five wickets, showcasing their dominance. Just before the break, Keshav Maharaj added to the woes of the Bangladeshi batting lineup, further solidifying South Africa’s grip on the match.

At the toss, Bangladesh’s skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto chose to bat first, a decision that backfired dramatically. Wiaan Mulder’s inswingers wreaked havoc on the Bangladeshi batting lineup, as he claimed the first three wickets: Shadman Islam for a duck, Mominul Haque for just 4 runs, and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for a mere 7 runs, leaving the hosts in deep trouble.

Following Wiaan Mulder’s early strikes, Kagiso Rabada launched a relentless assault, claiming the wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim for just 11 runs. He then dismissed Litton Das, who managed only 1 run. By the end of the first session, Bangladesh’s troubles continued as they lost Mehidy Hasan Miraz, trapped in front for 13 runs. This devastating collapse left Bangladesh reeling at 60/6 after 26 overs. South Africa’s bowlers effectively dominated the session, putting the hosts in a precarious position as they headed to lunch.
