Bowling brilliantly with the red ball, Michael Neser faced a major setback due to a hamstring injury. He had to leave the field during his 13th over of the innings. Before the injury, he looked very dangerous and was causing serious trouble for the Indian batters, showing his skill and form in the ongoing match.

In his first over, Neser claimed two wickets in consecutive balls, bowling with perfect accuracy and taking quick wickets. He had impressive figures of 4/27 before leaving the field due to a hamstring injury, which is a big setback as he aimed for a test return against India. Scans were done and selectors will monitor his recovery.

Beau Webster praised Michael Neser for continuing to play despite his injury:

It’s never nice to see a guy go down mid-over with an injury. He’s amazing with what he does with the new ball – swings it, hardly bowls a bad ball, and ran through the top order nicely today, which gave us the upper hand on the first day definitely.

During the current match against India A, Neser and Scott Boland caused major problems for the Indian batters, reducing them to 4-11 within three overs and putting Australia in a strong position. Australia has yet to announce their squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, but with the impact Neser and Boland have shown, they’re likely to play key roles in this crucial ICC World Test Championship series.
