India vs Australia has always been a moment where the fans have witnessed intense cricket rivalries. During the ongoing second Test between the two nations, former Australia cricketer and current Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach, Justin Langer, reflected on his past encounters with Rishabh Pant.
Langer recalled how Pant’s performances in the 2020-21 series had haunted him, with the Indian wicketkeeper playing crucial knocks that frustrated the Australian side. He said:
Rishabh Pant has haunted me the most from the last two series. Now a week ago, I hope he’s my favourite person in the world with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) picking him. Now he’s my mate, not my nemesis.
However, following Pant’s recent acquisition by LSG for a record Rs 27 crore at the IPL 2025 auction, Langer acknowledged the shift in their relationship. Now, as Pant prepares to potentially lead LSG, Langer has embraced him as a mate. Langer’s comments came as Pant and he is set to work closely together at LSG, marking a new chapter in their association, turning a former nemesis into a team ally.
