Shubman Gill is already recovering from a thumb injury and captain Rohit Sharma will miss the opening game of the intense five match Test series against Australia, starting November 22. With these setbacks, the Indian team is under pressure and cannot afford any more injuries during their tour, especially in such high stakes series on Australian soil.

During a net session at the WACA in Perth, Yashasvi Jaiswal was hit on the back by a ball while fielding. Fortunately, the injury wasn’t serious and the young left-handed batter was able to resume his batting practice at the WACA Ground without any major issues.

India’s injury worries are increasing, as key batter Shubman Gill is already struggling with fitness ahead of the much-awaited Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia. Gill’s availability for the first couple of matches on the tour remains uncertain, adding to the team’s challenges before the high-stakes series begins.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to be a crucial player at the top of the batting order as India prepares to defend their Border Gavaskar Trophy title in Australia. The team aims to achieve a historic third consecutive Test series victory against the Australians on their home soil.
