How Much Money Did India Receive For Finishing Third in WTC 2025?
India did not qualify for the ICC World Test Championship Final 2025, so they were not part of the $5.76 million prize distribution between finalists South Africa and Australia. The Indian team will be getting a different prize sum for finishing in third place.

After the ICC announced the prize distribution for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025, notable figures and fans have shared their reactions online. According to the post, the WTC winner will earn ₹30.78 crore, while the runners-up will receive ₹18.46 crore.
The remaining teams will be rewarded based on their standings: India gets ₹12.31 crore, New Zealand ₹10.26 crore, England ₹8.2 crore, Sri Lanka ₹7.18 crore, Bangladesh ₹6.15 crore, West Indies ₹5.13 crore, and Pakistan ₹4.10 crore. This distribution aligns with the ICC’s official announcement, which sets the total prize pool at $5.76 million for the Finalists (approximately ₹48 crore), a record for the tournament.
The final is scheduled for June 11 at Lord’s, with South Africa and Australia as the finalists. South Africa secured their spot by topping the WTC standings, while Australia qualified after defeating India 3-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The increase in prize money underlines the WTC’s rising global significance, as expressed by ICC Chair Jay Shah and both team captains, Pat Cummins and Temba Bavuma.
