The Australian Captain, Pat Cummins says that he is ready to make amends for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will be held in Australia. This is the first five match Test series being held by India for more than a decade, as the first match commences from November 22 in Perth.

India has been strong against Australia in the previous BGT series, winning two times consecutively, as they enter this time also being the defending champions. Pat Cummins talked about the same at the Star Sports Press Room, saying that,

We’ve had a bit of a break, so I’m excited for the five match Test series. Excited to get into it.

Pat Cummins also talked about the team’s luck whenever they have gone against India in the previous Test series by saying,

We haven’t had a lot of luck against India over the last few Test series, but we always pride ourselves on playing well here in Australia.

The previous Border-Gavaskar Trophy held in Australia was during 2020-21, and it was won by India 2-1, under the captainship of Virat Kohli. India secured a three wicket win in the final Test due to the 89 not out innings by Rishabh Pant, leading to a historic win in The Gabba. This series was won by the team even after a shocking defeat in the first game when India was all-out at the score of 36.

Cummins said that the team has recovered from the last two Test series, saying,

The last two series were a long time ago, so I think we’ve gotten over it. But we have really high expectations when we play Test cricket in Australia.

He also continued saying that Rishabh Pant would be the X-factor for the Indian cricket team, after the heroics he displayed in the Gabba Test.
