IND vs NZ: Gautam Gambhir Shares Key Update on Rishabh Pant’s Injury Ahead of Second Test
Gautam Gambhir confirms the availability of Rishabh Pant for the second Test against New Zealand in Pune. Pant suffered a knee injury in the first Test match, allowing Dhruv Jurel to perform his job with the gloves. India looks to level the series against Kiwis.
The Indian cricket fans can now get some relief, as the aggressive wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has recovered fully from the left knee injury he suffered during the first test against New Zealand. This injury came when a delivery of Ravindra Jadeja hit Rishabh Pant straight to his knee, and even had him miss the keeping for the remainder of the match.
Now, the coach Gautam Gambhir said that Pant has recovered from his injury and is all set to be a part of the team in the second Test match, which will be played on 24 October at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium. Along with that, he also confirmed that Pant will be coming out with the keeping gloves also, as the second Test is important for the Indian team to win.
On Rishabh Pant’s availability for the second Test, Gautam Gambhir said that,
He’s absolutely fine, he’ll keep wickets tomorrow.
During the second day of the first Test match, Pant suffered an injury on his left knee, as Dhruv Jurel took the role of wicketkeeping for the rest of the game. However, Rishabh Pant also came out to bat for the team to score 99 runs, missing out a well-deserved century.
Unfortunately, India lost the first Test match against New Zealand by 8 wickets and will now be looking forward to a rebound in the second Test match against Pune. It will be an interesting match as New Zealand looks forward to end India’s winning streak at home, and India looks to rebound to level the series.
