Day 1 of the second Test between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval witnessed an extraordinary display of positive batting from India’s rising all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. Amid challenging conditions, Reddy left fans and teammates, including Jasprit Bumrah, in awe with a reverse scoop against Australia pacer Scott Boland which went straight for a maximum.

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma chose to bat first after winning the toss. However, the visitors faced early setbacks on a tricky Adelaide pitch. As wickets fell regularly, Reddy joined Rishabh Pant at the crease, showcasing great intent and creativity to stabilize the innings. Post-lunch, with partners dwindling, Reddy shifted gears to adopt an aggressive approach.
