Prithvi Shaw made a huge impact early in his career, drawing comparisons to legends like Brian Lara, Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar. His Test debut century had everyone talking about his incredible potential and bright future in cricket.

Prithvi Shaw’s issues with incoming deliveries exposed flaws in his technique, confidence, fitness and attitude, causing concerns about his consistency. His discipline and behaviour have also been questioned, along with reports of bad habits. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal is gaining attention for his strong focus, disciplined lifestyle and relentless hard work, setting a positive example.

Coach Jwala Singh pointed out a key difference between Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the importance of the process. He said:

I think the process, which we call work ethic, so I feel if you are talented, talent is just a seed; to make it a tree, consistency is very important in that journey, and that consistency comes from your lifestyle, your work ethic, and discipline, so what I feel is that consistency is not with him.

The coach emphasised that even great players like Sachin Tendulkar kept improving their skills, fitness and mental strength to remain successful. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw faced a setback recently when he went unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction, highlighting the importance of continuous growth and discipline in cricket.
