Pakistan was given the 2025 Champions Trophy by the ICC. However, there are concerns about whether India will participate because of the ongoing political tensions between the two countries. These diplomatic issues have now affected the world of cricket, causing uncertainty about India’s involvement in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

The BCCI has informed the ICC that India’s Cricket team will not travel to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board, after discussions with the government, remains committed to hosting the tournament in Pakistan, despite concerns over India’s participation.

The PCB is determined to host the Champions Trophy, even if India doesn’t participate. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has rejected the idea of a hybrid model, sparking rumours that Pakistan might pull out of the tournament. The PCB hopes to change the perception of Pakistan as an unsafe cricket venue.

A report states that the ongoing disagreement between PCB and BCCI has put the ICC in a tough spot. The BCCI didn’t mention security concerns for not traveling to Pakistan, while the PCB is seeking more clarity from the ICC. If Pakistan withdraws, they could lose the $65 million hosting fee, but the ICC has promised full hosting rights and most matches under a hybrid model.
