Champions Trophy 2025: PCB Pushes for Urgent Venue Decision for ICC Tournament
An International Cricket Council meeting is scheduled in Dubai to determine the hosting rights for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The discussions will finalize the tournament's venues and address whether the entire event will be held in Pakistan. Additionally, a key point of debate will be whether the Indian team will travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
The International Cricket Council will hold a meeting in Dubai from October 18 to 21 to discuss key aspects of the 2025 Champions Trophy, scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9. Important topics for discussion include whether Pakistan will host the entire tournament, the selection of venues, and whether the Indian team will travel to the country.
For the meeting, officials from the England and Wales Cricket Board will travel from Multan, Pakistan, to Dubai to assess the preparations and security measures in place. The Pakistan Cricket Board is eager to host the Champions Trophy 2025 entirely, as they were unable to host the 2023 Asia Cup due to India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan over safety concerns. The PCB is determined to ensure a successful tournament.
Pakistan Venues for the Champions Trophy
Following its thrilling conclusion in 2017, when Pakistan defeated India in the Champions Trophy final, the tournament is set to return, much to the excitement of fans eager to see their favourite players in action. The Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed three official venues: Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
Lahore will host a total of seven matches, which includes the finals of the tournament. Karachi is scheduled to hold the opening match and one of the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi will host five matches, which includes the second semi-final. This line-up promises to deliver an exciting tournament for cricket enthusiasts.
