After bagging an amazing deal in the IPL 2025 Auction, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has found himself under scrutiny due to poor performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The youngest player ever purchased in IPL history, Suryavanshi was signed by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore, beating Delhi Capitals in a fierce bidding war. Known for his aggressive batting and power-hitting, Vaibhav gained prominence for his century against Australia’s U-19 team, making him one of the most sought-after talents in the tournament.

However, his List A debut for Bihar has fallen short of expectations. In his first match, he managed just four runs. In his most recent game against Tripura, Vaibhav was dismissed for a duck, bowled out by Sarkar in the first over after facing only five deliveries. This marked his third consecutive failure, including a nine-run knock in the U-19 Asia Cup Final against Bangladesh, which India lost.

Vaibhav’s disappointing performances have led to criticism, with many questioning if the Royals’ hefty investment was premature. Despite the backlash, fans and analysts alike are hopeful that the young talent can turn things around and justify his potential in the upcoming IPL season.
