SA20 2025: MI Cape Town Revamps Coaching Staff with Mitchell McClenaghan and Expert Guidance for SA20 2025
MI Cape Town made changes to its coaching staff for the upcoming CSA SA20 season. They brought in former cricketers Mitchell McClenaghan as bowling coach and Kruger van Wyk as fielding coach to strengthen their team's support and expertise on the field.
MI Cape Town finished at the bottom of the SA20 season standings for the second year in a row, securing only three wins from their 10 matches. Despite having a strong lineup with international stars like Ben Stokes, Trent Boult, and Rashid Khan, as well as local talent like Kagiso Rabada, the team faced challenges throughout the season.
MI Cape Town has confirmed the appointment of Mitchell McClenaghan as the team’s Bowling Coach and Kruger van Wyk as the Fielding Coach for the 2025 SA20 season. The statement says:
MI Cape Town welcomes Mitchell McClenaghan as the Bowling Coach for the upcoming 2025 season of the SA20. He’s all set to be joined by Kruger van Wyk as the Fielding Coach. McClenaghan, a true-blue MI #OneFamily legend, having won four IPL titles with the Mumbai Indians as a player in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, and part of the Wankhede folklore, makes the move from MI Emirates, where he was part of the title-winning ILT20 2024 campaign as the Bowling Coach. He’s going to love it at Newlands, with a bunch of exciting fast bowlers to work with!
MI Cape Town has added Mitchell McClenaghan as the Bowling Coach, who had a successful stint with MI Emirates during their title-winning ILT20 2024 campaign. Kruger van Wyk, the Fielding Coach for the South African men’s team, brings valuable expertise.
