IPL 2025: Washington Sundar Secures INR 3.20 Crore Deal with Gujarat Titans at IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Washington Sundar, the Indian all-rounder, has put himself up for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 2 crore. Sundar, 25, has been a consistent performer in the Indian Premier League since his debut in 2017 with the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants, where he initially joined as a replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin.

His performance in the 2017 season was impressive, as he picked up 8 wickets in 11 matches, maintaining an economy rate of just 6.16. Sundar’s ability to bowl in the powerplay made him a key asset to the franchise, despite the relatively limited opportunities early on.

From 2018 to 2021, Sundar played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, where his all-round skills were often utilized. In 2022, he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the IPL mega auction. However, in IPL 2024, Sundar struggled to get regular game time due to the Impact Player rule, featuring in only two matches.

At the 2025 mega auction, Sundar was a highly sought-after name due to his recent dazzling stats. After a bidding war, Gujarat Titans secured his services for INR 3.20 crore, outbidding other franchises, including Lucknow Super Giants.
