Rishabh Pant started his IPL career with Delhi Capitals in 2016. He became the team’s captain in 2021, leading them to 23 wins in 43 matches. In the 2024 season, he was the top scorer for Delhi Capitals, scoring 446 runs in 13 games with an impressive strike rate of 155.40.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, multiple teams showed interest in Rishabh Pant, but Lucknow Super Giants made the highest bid of Rs 20.75 crore to acquire him. However, Delhi Capitals used their RTM card to retain Pant, preventing him from joining the new team.

The Super Giants raised their bid to a record Rs 27 crore, which Delhi Capitals couldn’t match. As a result, Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history. Just minutes before, Shreyas Iyer had been sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore.

Since JSW Sports became involved in 2018, Parth Jindal has shared a warm relationship with Rishabh Pant. Jindal expressed his affection for Pant and wished him success in his new journey. He also hoped they would reunite in the future in the Indian Premier League.
