IPL 2025: Omkar Salvi Joins RCB as Fast Bowling Coach Ahead of The Upcoming IPL Journey

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has appointed Omkar Salvi, the current head coach of Mumbai’s senior men’s team, as their fast bowling coach for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Salvi, a familiar name in domestic cricket, previously served as assistant coach with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before committing to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Under Salvi’s guidance, Mumbai clinched the Ranji Trophy last season, showcasing his tactical knowledge and strategic coaching style. His contract with MCA ends in March 2025, coinciding with his move to RCB. Salvi, the brother of former Indian pacer Avishkar Salvi, has limited playing experience, having featured in a solitary List A match for Railways in 2005.

Earlier this year, RCB also brought in Dinesh Karthik as their batting coach and mentor, reuniting Karthik and Salvi, who previously worked together at KKR. The franchise appears focused on assembling a dynamic backroom staff as they aim to end their IPL title drought this time. Confirming this news, a source said:

He has been appointed as bowling coach for RCB for the forthcoming season, he has expertise and has worked with other franchises too.

With the mega auction approaching, RCB is keen to build a formidable team to finally secure their maiden IPL title after three unsuccessful final appearances. Fans hope these strategic changes will pave the way for long-awaited glory.
