Gujarat Titans have appointed former Indian wicket keeper-batter Parthiv Patel as their assistant and batting coach for IPL 2025. India’s former wicket keeper and now a commentator, Parthiv Patel, has been appointed as the assistant and batting coach of Gujarat Titans for the IPL 2025 season. The Titans, who clinched the IPL 2022 title and finished as runners-up in 2023, are hoping Patel’s experience will help them bounce back after a disappointing 2024 season, where they finished eighth on the points table with just 12 points from 14 matches.

Patel brings a wealth of experience, having represented India in 38 ODIs, 25 Tests, and two T20Is. He also played for Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, winning two titles (one each with CSK and MI). Before joining Gujarat Titans, Patel had a successful three-season stint as a talent scout for Mumbai Indians and was the batting coach for Mumbai Emirates in 2023.

In his new role, Patel will focus on enhancing Gujarat’s batting strength. The team has already retained key players like Shubman Gill for INR 16.5 crore, Rashid Khan for INR 18 crore, and Sai Sudharsan for INR 8.5 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Additionally, they have retained Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan, both for INR 4 crore. With INR 75 crore remaining in their purse for the upcoming auction, the Titans are poised to strengthen their squad and aim for another successful IPL season under Patel’s guidance.
