The PCB plans to seek clarification from the ICC after the BCCI decided not to send the Indian team to Pakistan. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has rejected the proposal of a hybrid model, which would involve India playing its matches outside Pakistan.

The Champions Trophy is set to be held in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9. However, the ICC is exploring the possibility of a hybrid model for the tournament. If Pakistan does not agree to this model, South Africa and UAE are being considered as alternative hosts, according to the recent reports.

India and Pakistan have not played bilateral cricket since 2012. For the 2023 Asia Cup, the PCB used a hybrid model, with India playing all their matches, including the final, in Sri Lanka, while Pakistan hosted the other games. However, Pakistan later traveled to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Basit Ali suggested that if the ICC adopts a hybrid model, India and Pakistan should not be in the same group. He explained that this would allow the two teams to play in the tournament, although he noted that broadcasters might not support this decision.
