Have IPL Owners Turned Into Cricket’s Version of Shark Tank Judges?
The Indian Premier League is undoubtedly the most popular franchise-based T20 league all over the world. The companies owning the teams in the IPL have now also started to expand their availability in various T20 leagues such as CPL, ILT20, and many more.

The Indian Premier League has been the top franchise-based T20 league, where companies owning the teams are able to generate loads of revenue through every season. With every season, both BCCI and IPL teams can be in profit with the help of the revenue generated through the same.
This has further helped the IPL teams to expand their availability across different T20 leagues taking place around the world. For example, the Mumbai Indians, which is owned by Reliance Group, now also has teams such as MI Cape Town (SA20), MI New York (Major League Cricket), and MI Emirates (ILT20).

In this way, various other franchises such as Sun TV, RPSG Group, and more can enhance their availability across various T20 leagues and generate more profits through the same. This has also made the IPL teams the new Shark Tank judges, as they are eager to invest more in the T20 leagues to reap profits out of them.
Recently, it has been revealed that four groups, who already have their teams in the IPL, have bought teams in The Hundred. This tournament takes place in a different format, where 10 balls take place in an over, making it a bit different from the other T20 leagues. Let’s take a look at the teams that have been acquired by the IPL franchises in the Hundred.
Oval Invincibles
The owner of the IPL team Mumbai Indians has also acquired the Hundred team, Oval Invincibles. Reliance Group has now extended the range of teams they hold, even in this format of the game, putting in more action for the fans. Oval Invincibles have also been dominant in the Hundred, as they won the last two editions of the tournament consecutively.
