Countdown To IPL 2025: Teams Prepare For Auction With Venue Uncertainty
The IPL 2025 auction is approaching and all ten franchises have revealed their retained players. A total of 46 players have been kept by the teams. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals retained all six players, while Punjab chose to keep only two players.
Four franchises, including Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, have chosen to retain five players each. In contrast, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have opted to keep only four players each. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have decided to retain their three players for the upcoming season.
With a purse of INR 110.5 crore, the Punjab Kings have the largest amount of money to spend in the upcoming IPL auction. They are the only team with over 100 crore available. Several top players, including Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, will be available for bidding in this auction for IPL 2025, making it an exciting event for fans and teams alike.
The BCCI has not yet announced the date and venue for the upcoming IPL auction. However, reports suggest that it is likely to be held on November 24 and 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Final arrangements are being made and an announcement is expected soon. The delay is partly due to the auction dates overlapping with India’s first test match against Australia, which runs from November 22 to 26.
