Lucknow SuperGiants to retain Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi, for the IPL 2025 season. KL Rahul reported not in terms of being retained by the team and is expected to enter the Mega Auction.
The deadlines for the IPL teams to submit the retention list are coming closer, it has been made clear that Lucknow SuperGiants will be retaining Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi. The last date to submit the retention list is 31st October for all the IPL teams.
KL Rahul, who has captained the team since its inaugural season in 2022, is currently not expected to be retained for the IPL 2025 season and might enter the Mega Auction. However, LSG has the Right to Match (RTM) card that could help them to get Rahul back if he enters the auction.
It should be noted that the amount at which these players will be retained is not revealed. According to the retention slabs, it is expected that 51 crore INR will be reduced from the purse of Lucknow SuperGiants. All the IPL teams are given a total purse of 120 crore INR, which has increased from the previous mega auction.
Nicholas Pooran will be the first retention for the team in the upcoming season. He was the second leading run scorer for them, just after KL Rahul. Pooran was also the captain of the team in the initial games when Rahul was out due to a niggle. His strike rate has been impressive, which helps LSG to boost their run rate in the IPL games. Mayank Yadav has also been a remarkable player, getting two Player of the Match awards in the previous season.
