With each day passing, Lasith Malinga’s legacy in T20 cricket continues to shine, and a memorable moment from his stint in the Big Bash League (BBL) back in 2012-13 stands as a testament to his mastery. Malinga, a legend of the game, is known for his lethal yorkers, and one of his finest deliveries came during a match between the Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers at the MCG.

In a tight contest, with the Sixers needing 54 runs from the remaining four overs, Malinga bowled a near-unplayable yorker to the well-set Brad Haddin, dismissing him for 39 off 28 balls and securing a key breakthrough. His performance helped the Stars secure a 21-run victory.

Malinga’s remarkable career includes 390 wickets from 295 T20 matches, with 107 of those coming in international cricket. His T20I bowling average stands at an impressive 19.68, and he has been a consistent performer in the IPL and BBL. In the 2012-13 BBL season, Malinga finished as the Stars’ second-highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets from just seven matches at an average of 10.69. Despite the Stars not making it to the finals, Malinga’s impact on the tournament remains unforgettable.
