Social Media Gets Sad as Siraj Punishes RCB for Letting Him Go
Mohammed Siraj delivered a match-winning spell of 3/19 against his former team, RCB, leading Gujarat Titans to an eight-wicket victory in IPL 2025. His fiery performance at Chinnaswamy Stadium came after being excluded from India’s Champions Trophy squad. Siraj, 31, has taken five wickets in three matches, proving his worth after RCB’s decision not to retain him.

With the IPL 2025 season in full swing, Mohammed Siraj made a statement against his former team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Now playing for Gujarat Titans (GT), Siraj delivered a match-winning spell of 3/19 in four overs, dismantling RCB’s top order. His fiery performance at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium led GT to an eight-wicket victory on April 2.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag praised Siraj’s intensity, attributing it to his omission from India’s 2025 Champions Trophy squad. Siraj dismissed Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt early, leaving RCB at 42/4 inside the powerplay. Bengaluru managed 169/8, with Liam Livingstone scoring 54. GT chased it down with 13 balls to spare, thanks to Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 73.
Currently, GT sits fourth in the points table with four points from three matches, while RCB is third with the same points but a superior net run rate. Siraj’s performance showcased his value after RCB chose not to retain him.
