With the IPL 2025 approaching, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have sparked nostalgia by reintroducing their iconic black and gold 2008 retro jersey. Released as a limited-edition fan kit, the jersey sold out on KKR’s website in under 10 minutes, reflecting massive fan excitement. The design pays tribute to KKR’s inaugural season under Sourav Ganguly while blending modern materials and sleek fits.

In a social media post, KKR described the jersey as a symbol of the team’s fearless legacy, reigniting memories of their journey to three IPL titles. However, it remains unclear whether players will wear this retro kit in official matches, despite photoshoots featuring Rinku Singh in the jersey.

As defending champions, KKR heads into IPL 2025 after winning 9 out of 14 matches last season and defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final. Their campaign starts against RCB on March 22 at Eden Gardens.
