For the first time, former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is stepping into the world of acting. Ganguly made his acting debut in a promotional video for Netflix’s upcoming web series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter (Khakee 2). The advertisement, shot at Kolkata’s Binodini Studio, features him in a police uniform, hinting at a possible cameo in the series.

The series, produced by Friday Storytellers and directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, is set in early-2000s West Bengal and revolves around an IPS officer, Arjun Maitra (played by Karan Tacker), navigating gang wars and political corruption. While Ganguly’s exact role remains undisclosed, his appearance has created a buzz among fans.

In addition to this, a biopic on Ganguly’s life is in development, with National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao portraying him. However, Ganguly has confirmed he will not be appearing in the film himself due to scheduling conflicts.

The excitement surrounding Ganguly’s acting debut reflects his continued influence beyond cricket, as he expands his career into entertainment after serving as BCCI President, commentator, and reality show host. With Khakee 2 set for release, audiences eagerly await Dada’s on-screen transformation.
