Rajasthan Royals pulled off a stunning 7-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, chasing 221 in just 19.1 overs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred with a blistering 93 off 38 balls, smashing 7 fours and 10 sixes. Earlier, Mitchell Marsh’s 96 and Josh Inglis’ 60 powered LSG to 220/5, but RR’s fearless batting secured victory.
In the final league-stage clash in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals pulled off one of their best chases of the IPL 2026 season, defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets. Chasing a huge target of 221, Rajasthan reached 225/3 in 19.1 overs and kept their playoff hopes alive with a strong all-round display. Lucknow Super Giants looked in control after posting 220/5. Mitchell Marsh played a superb knock of 96 from 57 balls and missed out on a century by just 4 runs.
His innings included 11 fours and 5 sixes. Josh Inglis gave LSG the perfect start with a quick 60 off 29 balls, striking 7 fours and 3 sixes. Rishabh Pant also chipped in with 35 from 23 deliveries as LSG crossed the 200 mark comfortably. Despite the big target, Rajasthan showed no signs of pressure. Yashasvi Jaiswal attacked early and scored 43 from 23 balls, giving the chase momentum inside the power play. The real game changer, however, was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The youngster played a fearless innings of 93 off only 38 balls, smashing 7 boundaries and 10 sixes. He brought up his fifty in just 23 balls and completely shifted the match in Rajasthan’s favour. After Sooryavanshi’s dismissal, Dhruv Jurel made sure there were no late twists. He stayed unbeaten on 53 off 38 balls and handled the chase calmly. Donovan Ferreira added a useful 16 not out from 10 balls to finish the game with 5 balls remaining.
For Lucknow, Mohsin Khan and Akash Singh picked up 1 wicket each, but their bowling unit struggled badly against Rajasthan’s aggressive batting. With this win, the Rajasthan Royals collected 2 valuable points and strengthened their chances of reaching the playoffs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was named Player of the Match for his explosive innings that made a difficult chase look easy.
